Class Information
Perfect for beginners as well as those with previous experience, classes are taught by professional Island potters and are designed to be fun as well as educational. Classes are small in size and relaxed and informal in style. The classes cover the basics of clay preparation, and participants will have the opportunity to create their own pieces from start to finish.
The cost of classes, except for additional clay costs as noted below, includes the use of studio tools, equipment and glazes.
- Adult classes focus on wheel-throwing techniques with hand-building techniques explored depending on interest.
- Children and Youth Classes focus more on hand-building techniques, with wheel-throwing techniques introduced based on age, physical abilities and interest.
Adult Classes
Intended for beginners and early intermediate potters, classes are taught by professional potters.
Cost: $300 (includes 1 bag of clay, additional clay purchased at $30/bag)
Time: 3-hour class, 1 class/week
Length: 10-weeks
Class time: 6:30-9:30pm

Children’s Classes
Open to beginners or those with pottery experience.
Cost: $180 (includes reclaim)
Time: 2-hour class, 1 class/week
Length: 8-weeks
Class time 1: 9-11am (ages 9-11)
Class time 2: 11:30am-1:30pm (ages 12-14)
Classes run on Saturdays, with new 8-week sessions starting

Youth Classes (Pilot program)
Program initially aimed at those with some pottery experience with project goals based on student interest.

Cost: $180 (includes reclaim or additional clay at $30/bag)
Time: 2-hour, 1 class/week
Length: 8-weeks
Class time: 4-6pm (ages 15-18)
Classes run on Thursdays, with a pilot class running starting on Jan 8th.
